Alesis, a leading manufacturer of professional audio electronics and musical instruments, announces the immediate availability of the Alesis 3632 Compressor, a dual-channel compressor, limiter, and gate unit.
The Alesis 3630 Compressor is the most popular dynamics processor ever made. Its successor, the Alesis 3632 Compressor builds on the 3630's popular design and features. The single rack-space unit provides two independent, fully featured compressor and limiter units with excellent sonic quality for any application from studio recording to live sound or broadcast.
The 3632's compressor attack and release times can be automatically set dependent on the source material, or full manual control can be exercised. The unit can function as either two separate processors, or stereo linked to provide true stereo compression. An adjustable expander/gate and very low distortion Voltage Control Amplifiers (VCA) deliver smooth sound.
A sidechain function enables users to place the Alesis 3632 Compressor in an external effects loop, while a second, internal sidechain employs a switchable low-cut filter to help control pumping due to heavy low-frequency content. LED meters on each channel display gain reduction and input/output levels.
"The Alesis 3632 Compressor continues the Alesis tradition of delivering professional quality sound control at an unbeatable value," said Dan Radin, Product Manager, Alesis. "The next-generation Alesis compressor delivers the performance of the legendary 3630, plus the choice of automatic and manual control of key parameters."
Intelligent compression and dynamics.
The Alesis 3632 Compressor is the follow-up to the 3630 Compressor, the most popular dynamics processor ever made. The Alesis 3632 Compressor builds on the popular design and features of its predecessor by providing two independent, full-featured compressor/limiters in one compact rack. It delivers superb sonic quality for any application from studio recording to live sound or broadcast.
MANUAL OR AUTOMATIC
With the push of a button the Alesis 3632 Compressor's attack and release times can be set to engage automatically depending on the source signal. In this mode, the 3632 applies an optimized amount of compression with no extremes. Want full manual control? Again, just push a button and you have free reign over the 3632's comprehensive range of parameters. The Alesis 3632 Compressor can function as either two individual mono processors, or you can stereo-link them to provide true stereo compression.
GUARD YOUR SOUND
The 3632 Compressor's Expander/Gate keeps unwanted noise out of your sound. When your signal falls below the threshold you've chosen, the Expander/Gate pushes low-level noise down or simply closes the gate depending on the parameters you've dialed in. Deny noise access to your audience or your mix!
At the heart of the 3632 Compressor is its VCA (voltage-controlled amplifier), which offers professional-grade performance in terms of distortion, noise, and temperature stability, making everything you hear smooth and consistent.
The 3632 Compressor's sidechain function on each channel enables you to use it in external effects loops or in other common compressor applications such as ducking: use the sidechain function to trigger compression on a signal when you want it. A second, internal sidechain employs a switchable low-cut filter to help control pumping due to heavy low-frequency content.
With intuitive control layout and bright LED meters that display gain reduction and input/output levels per channel, the 3632 Compressor will give you constant visual feedback. Professional compression is ultimately about the control and delivery of sound, and the 3632 Compressor will make you a master at both.

Established in 1980, Alesis was founded on innovative semi-conductor chip technology and award winning industrial designs that allowed entry level musicians and recording artists to afford professional studio recording products that were never affordable before. With high "bang for the buck" value, Alesis introduced the world's first professional 16 bit effects processor under $1000, the Midiverb. Following on the heels of the Midiverb, Alesis progressed into studio quality drum machines (HR-16 and SR-16) as well as synthesizers, studio monitors and mixing consoles.
If there's one secret to our enduring brand and the passion it ignites in musicians, producers and engineers, it's that we deliver these experiences, rather than merely a collection of products and services. We"re dedicated to inspiring musical creativity and developing musical experiences for all of our stakeholders – customers, employees, partners, suppliers, and the musical community at large. That's what sets Alesis apart from the crowd and why our brand continues to be on the leading edge of professional audio and music technology.
While our products range from keyboards, synthesizers, hard disk recorders, iPod recording and playback devices, electronic drums, mixers, signal processors, effects units, amplifiers and speakers one thing remains consistent; our passion for inspiring musical creativity and innovation through new technology.
Alesis warrants its products to be free from defects for 1 year from the date of purchase.
