The Numark NS7 is a DJ controller designed with help from Serato, meaning that the NS7 works with Serato ITCH as soon as you connect the controller to your computer. The controller starts with a tank-like build with adjustable torque, motorized, aluminum turntable platters, vinyl and a pro quality audio interface to round out the package.

The NS7 also features a battalion of faders, knobs, buttons and the patent pending Strip Search, a virtual-needle-drop control that integrates the provided copy of Serato ITCH. NS7 digs its claws deep into Serato ITCH to control every aspect of the software. The NS7 even sends data to ITCH ten times faster than standard MIDI resolution, which is ridiculously fast -- Usain Bolt fast.

The NS7 features a pair of seven-inch, motorized, high-torque aluminum turntable platters that can be controlled via modern or classic setting, each with their own feel to accommodate your preference. You get real vinyl that sits on real slipmats for the about the realest control experience you can get. The buttons and knobs on this unit are high-grade and rubberized and complement a replaceable CP-PRO crossfader and D-TYPE line faders. The crossfaders were selected thanks to properties which make them very durable with high life expectancies.

One of the main goals of any controller is to simplify the operation of the software it controls. NS7 does that with ITCH with a click knob and large, backlit buttons to help you navigate your music library, cutting time spent looking at your screen thanks to visual cues you can take from over 100 LEDs and over 100 hands-on controls. In addition to its USB for computer connection, the NS7's built-in audio outs let you easily connect to a PA system or powered speakers to send out 24-bit / 44.1 kHz quality audio via XLR or RCAs. The front panel lets you input any mic or RCA line device while monitoring from 1/4" or 1/8" headphone outputs.

Though Strip Search might have you clenching in fear, there's nothing to worry about and no latex gloves involved. Strip Search is a virtual-needle-drop touch strip that lets you instantly locate points along with your on-screen waveform. Each deck swabs up five hot-cue-assign buttons to mark recallable points in both ITCH and Serato Scratch LIVE.

Furthermore a Serato-style loop section per deck lets you switch between manual and automatic loop functions, and automatic BPM analysis is featured to make it easy to make loops. Doubling, havling, shift and manual controls also assist loopers. Beat matching ain't no thing either thanks to smooth, stiff, 100 mm pitch sliders and plus and minus buttons for bending. A zero point LED notifies you when the crossfader is in the middle.

Numark and Serato developed NS7 to be the premier hardware controller for Serato's ITCH software. All controls are pre-mapped for ITCH software, and both NS7 and ITCH are fully compatible with crates, loops, and cue points from Serato's award-winning Scratch LIVE software. DJs who already use Scratch LIVE can use NS7 with their existing Scratch LIVE software, or upgrade to the included Serato ITCH program. NS7 is also compatible most other MIDI DJ software applications.

PERFECT FEEL

A single USB cable between NS7 and your Mac or PC is all you need to send audio and data back and forth. NS7 has onboard audio outputs so it’s the only piece of gear you need to connect to the PA system or powered speakers.
NS7 outputs 24-bit, 44.1 kHz digital audio to the sound system on XLRs and RCAs. The front panel contains mic input, RCA line input, and both 1/4" and 1/8” headphone outputs with volume control.

NS7 comes with an integrated laptop stand that supplies safe, secure mounting for your laptop. You can use an ultra-small space because NS7 elevates your laptop off the table.

There’s nothing like dropping the needle a record for quickly locating a point in the track. We took that idea and developed our own modern take on it with Strip Search, the unique virtual-needle-drop touch strip. You can move rapidly within the track, using the waveform on screen for accuracy.

We developed an extensive Serato-style loop section on each deck for creative remix capabilities. You can choose between manual and auto-loop functions and an automatic BPM analyzer further assists loop makers. Creating automatic smart loops of any measure length is a breeze, and you can mutilate and modify to heart’s content with a variety of controls such as Doubling, Halving, Shift, and manual controls. Multiple loop banks per deck make NS7 a great choice for scratch and club DJs alike.

We took extraordinary care in selecting the components of the audio signal chain. NS7 contains a host of professional audio connectors and a multichannel, 24-bit USB digital-audio interface.

Serato ITCH is already familiar if you use Scratch LIVE. The new program builds on Scratch LIVE’s popularity and adds some key, new features. ITCH doesn’t require a timecode interface, so the system can be as simple as, say, NS7 and your computer! Since ITCH makes timecode a thing of the past, you won’t need to worry about needles skipping or vinyl wearing out. You can load your Scratch LIVE crates, loops, presets, and cue points seamlessly in ITCH. NS7 also works with most other MIDI DJ software and supports iTunes.

ITCH handles audio processing and mixing including channel fading, EQ, crossfading and track trim are processed for outstanding control and management of your tracks, ease of recording your set, clip-proof gain management, and BPM calculation using the power of your computer’s processor.

ITCH has library management tools for backup and restoring your music. Advanced input and mix recording capabilities include recording your mix or just the aux input for sampling. The software supports AIFF, WAV, MP3, and AAC audio files.
