Following on from the recent launch of Pioneer's new top-of-the range CDJ-2000 and DJM-2000 models, the new DJM-350 and Pioneer CDJ-350 DJ CD Player will look to repackage some of the newer feature additions to those high-end products at a more affordable price point.
In the case of the Pioneer CDJ-350 DJ CD Player, Pioneer's rekordbox technology is the most notable carry over from their higher grade models. Loop functionality will be offered through a series of features - Beat Loop (matches the beat and repeats a 4-beat loop), Loop Divide (plays a loop on an alternate rhythmic pattern) and Hot Loop (return to loop start point and plays) - while USB connectivity will allow for use alongside a MIDI controller, or as an audio interface. And although the vast majority of DJs would call 'foul play' at such a thing, there'll also be an auto BPM lock button which instantly matches the tempo of a track to a preset master BPM.
The two channel DJM-350 mixer, meanwhile, also sports a USB port which enables direct recording of DJ sets. Users will have the option of splitting their WAV quality files on the fly via a dedicated 'track mark' button, potentially saving a great deal of time on post-mix editing. Four effects will also be offered - Filter, Crush, Jet and Gate - while three band isolaters (+9dB to -8) will take care of the EQ end of things.
The Pioneer CDJ-350 DJ CD Player will allow users to create DJ performances with various digital music files including MP3, AAC, WAV and AIFF files that are stored on different forms of media, including USB mass storage device class products or CD-R/RW discs. The media player also includes Pioneer's proprietary music management software, rekordbox, making it possible to manage music files on a computer for quick song selection when played back on compatible Pioneer players.
