SENNHEISER HD-25 1 II LTD HEADPHONES
WINNER OF THE DJMAG.COM TECH AWARDS WORLD'S BEST DJ HEADPHONES AWARD!
The HD-25 has excellent sound quality and good headband versatility which makes the HD-25 a good headphone for active types who enjoy moving around a bit while keeping their headphone securely affixed to their head. The HD-25 sonic signature: Tight & well-defined lows with a cleanly damped sound in the bass; very even-sounding mids, nicely present and quite punchy; and fairly smooth and well-extended highs. The rather unusual split-headband design comes from studio recording/engineering applications where a secure headphone fit is critical. The HD-25 is a highly worthwhile choice for those looking for a high-quality headphone while on the move.
The HD25s are the strongest set of DJ cans on the market with the best isolation and sound.
Eserin:
"If you can work with headphones that push up against your ears, then these are the very best. The earcups press up hard giving a tight seal from the outside DJ-booth world and they offer incredible audio fidelity. They have 2W drivers, which always sounds more impressive when you say 2000mW."
West End DJ:
"Industry standard now, and there are a couple of new versions out too with new headbands and cables. They keep going strong."
JFB:
"Yep, they're wicked! I had a pair for two years and used them all the time. The reason they only lasted two years is because I lost them!"
The most obvious feature of the HD25 is that unique split headband that allows the band to surround the head like a hat brim. You can actually wear it over a baseball hat or over one of those neat-o HeadRoom beanies with the propeller on top! It’s extremely effective and quite comfortable. The earcup piece also swivels out of the way on the left ear so you can hear outside sounds or perform fast-paced DJ mixing with one ear. The construction is a high-quality plastic composite throughout and feels extremely well-built and durable. The mid-sized supra-aural earpads are a supple pleather-type material and offer respectable ambient noise attenuation. The 4.5-ft single-sided, straight Y-cable is terminated with an 1/8" inch mini-plug and a larger 1/4" adaptor is included in the HD-25 package.
The HD25-1-II is a mid-priced sealed earcup headphone and its excellent sound quality and unique headband versatility make it a superb choice for active types keeping it moving with their headphones securely on the head. It's also a great candidate for commuters/travelers, serious DJ users, studio session pros, beatmakers, and producers working quality mixing desks and recording consoles. The HD25-1-II sonic signature: Well-defined lows with a tightly damped sound in the bass; very even-sounding mids, nicely present & quite punchy; and smoothly extended upper highs. The HD25-1-II also represents Sennheiser's top flagship 'sealed/closed' category headphone. Although it will definitely GREATLY benefit from a headphone amp when used with any portable audio player, the HD25-1-II should still deliver usable volume levels with most iPods, Mp3s, and PC/laptop sources even without a dedicated headphone amplifier -- although chances are it may sound a bit 'flat' & musically undynamic used directly from some portable sources. This is a worthwhile choice for those willing to invest some loot in ultra-pleasurable, high-quality listening while on the move with a portable head-amp for maximized detail resolution and full musical punch. It's a well-designed smaller-sized 'supraural' headphone for airplane travelers, sonically demanding studio session work, for professional recording applications, for audiophilic "LossLess" file iPod listeners, or just for excellent sealed-back mobile headphone sound quality anywhere you want your tunes.
The most obvious feature of these cans is the unique headband that surrounds the head almost like a hat brim. You can actually wear it over a baseball hat or even over one of our neat-o HeadRoom employee beanies with the propeller on top! It's an extremely effective and quite comfortable construction. The HD25-1-II's rather unusual 'split-headband' comes from studio applications where a secure fit is critical; it's easily the most stable headphone we've worn during serious head-banging or while pulling slick disco-fever B-Boy dance moves around the office. The mid-sized 'supra-aural' ("on-the-ear") earcups also swivel out of the way on the left ear so you can hear ambient sounds or perform fast-paced mono DJ mixing with one ear. The headphone construction is a high-quality plastic composite material throughout that feels well-built and durable. The earcups are padded with a supple pleather-type material and offer respectable ambient noise attenuation. An extra set of 'soft' fabric replacement earpads is provided in the HD25-1-II packaging along with a handy transport carry-pouch. The short detachable 4.5ft single-sided, straight Y-cable eliminates dreaded long-cord tangling when listening on the fly and it comes terminated to a 1/8" inch (3.5mm) mini-plug. A full-size 1/4" adaptor plug is handily included in the HD-25-1-II package. A 2-yr manufacturer's product warranty remains standard with all Sennheiser headphones.
The closed-back HD 25-1 II Headphones are purpose-designed, professional monitoring headphones offering high attenuation of background noise. Capable of handling very high sound pressure levels and of extremely robust construction, these Sennheiser headphones perform exceptionally well in potentially high-noise environments such as field recording, electronic journalism sound reinforcement, studio monitoring and audio equipment testing. The capsule can be rotated for one-ear listening. Ideal monitoring headphones for cameramen and DJs.
