FinalScratch 3 DJs: prepare for stronger support than ever before. Stanton has always regarded the DJs first, and is redoubling its efforts to create and maintain the right products and solutions for their craft. The company stands full force behind the FS3 system and hardware, and is making an aggressive effort toward continuing to educate and service users while helping them to fully utilize the capabilities of the program. Stanton, who brought the first- ever digital DJ solution to market with FinalScratch, will continue to update and support FS3, and any future product endeavors will be fully compatible. Be prepared for exciting new development announcements from Stanton in January 07!
Stanton has made a heavy investment in FS3 support. The company offers fast, live FinalScratch 3 tech support driven out of their home office and managed by a dynamic team of DJ experts who are able to work FS3 users quickly and efficiently through their areas of concern. “With various levels of Service and Technical Support available via phone and email, the vast majority of our calls are answered in less than 30 seconds and with immediate customer satisfaction”, said Customer Service Director Enio Martinez. Martinez continued, “We will continue our focus on providing Superior Customer Service and Support with innovative means of communication and call resolution.” Wait times are minimal, and customers will reach a friendly, highly competent DJ waiting with solutions and invaluable manufacturer’s insight on the FinalScratch 3 system.
The Stanton Group is confident that this focus will have a tremendous impact on the FinalScratch community as it continues to grow.
Next to the announcement of FinalScratch 3, Stanton DJ introduced FinalScratch OPEN which offers DJs the freedom of choice, allowing them to decide which software THEY want to use, utilizing the state of the art Stanton ScratchAmp. Still the strongest feature- for- value FireWire audio interface available today, the ScratchAmp delivers maximum audio throughput with minimal latency, and now the software options are expanding as Stanton opens up their technology to developers.
OPEN Options: The World Class Stanton ScratchAmp
The FinalScratch Open Scratch Amp is a state-of-the-art low latency FireWire 96k / 24 bit audio interface that is compatible for use with a variety of software applications, making it an ideal solution for programs that do not currently ship with a sound card, such as MixVibes, Deckadance, Ableton Live, Traktor DJ Studio, PCDJ, and the like, and providing the connections needed from turntables, cd players, and microphones. The Scratch Amp also provides the output connections to the DJ mixer and headphones for sending audio out of the computer. In addition to this, Midi is implemented on the Scratch Amp so users can now connect external control surfaces and audio devices to their DJ software application. Because the Scratch Amp is an ASIO / WDM device on Windows and is a class compliant CoreAudio device on the MacOS, it can work with virtually every audio application on the planet.
The Stanton Scratch Amp is a powerful sound card tailored towards the inputs and outputs that a performing DJ would require when using software. Traditional non pro-audio applications will work with the WDM driver and CoreAudio compliancy, allowing programs such as iTunes, Windows Media Player, WinAmp, PowerDVD and games to utilize the Scratch Amp. The Asio and CoreAudio compatibility ensure that pro-audio applications such as Cubase, Project 5, Ableton Live, FL Studio, Reason and others will run flawlessly with a sound card. With FinalScratch OPEN, Stanton is now shipping the world-class Stanton ScratchAmp as a standalone piece at an incredible value, and working with software developers to offer DJs the opportunity to choose the option that suits them best.
Stanton has now opened the Final Scratch format, allowing all software companies big and small to take advantage of time code support. The company believes that by providing this technology free of charge to developers, as well as linking its use with the ScratchAmp, FinalScratch users will now enjoy an unbelievable new realm of possibility. FinalScratch OPEN now has the potential to become a cross software standard for vinyl control.
A Note to Existing FinalScratch Users...
Over the coming year Stanton will unfold a digital product strategy that gives DJs the tools needed to reach unmatched performance levels, allowing them to take full advantage of the digital DJ technology that the company pioneered with FinalScratch. The first step in this strategy is FinalScratch OPEN, and the good news for existing FS DJs is that they do not have to make an additional hardware purchase...they already own the acclaimed Stanton ScratchAmp. FinalScratch OPEN also gives FinalScratch DJs the ability to purchase an additional ScratchAmp at a reduced cost to use for back-up or club installation. The options have now been expanded, and as Stanton continues to move forward with developers, users will begin to experience a new level of FinalScratch potential that was never before possible.
So, rather than come out with something like Final Scratch 3, Stanton has done something very very different. They announced today FinalScratch OPEN. You can buy the FS Scratch Amp and then use whatever flavor software you choose…traktor, Virtual DJ, Mixvibes, etc, etc.

"Since the announcement of our FinalScratch OPEN strategy, the Stanton Group has had a number of inquiries regarding software Intel-based Mac compatibility solutions for existing FinalScratch 2 users. We are doing everything we can to help by working with FinalScratch OPEN software partners for development of new solutions and hold a great deal of respect and appreciation for our user base, but need to reiterate that this is strictly a software based issue. The ScratchAmp is and always has been fully compatible with all Mac technology, but an Intel compatible update for FS2 users on the software side was never developed, and all of Stanton's requests for this software update have been denied by the developer. Currently, we do not develop software in-house, we are hardware experts, so the solution we developed was to open up our hardware code to all software houses to offer our customers as many options as possible rather than choosing for them by becoming exclusive with a new partner. We would also like to stress the fact that we are open to offering compatibility to ALL developers, including N.I., and any others who may choose to stand behind the ScratchAmp and implement our code in their programs, present and future. We invite you to encourage your software company to make their developments ScratchAmp compatible!
